The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ogun East senatorial district of Ogun State, Mr. Ajibola Kalejaiye, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the 2019 general elections in the state.
Kalejaiye, who stated this in a chat with newsmen on his agenda for the district if elected, said that the opposition party had been reorganised and strengthened to hand defeat to the ruling All Progressives Congress at the state and national levels.
In a statement, the former chairman of Ijebu North Local Government Area noted that following the performance of the PDP and the “buoyant” economic it created, the party was on an “unstoppable march” to regain power.
He explained, “There is no denying the fact that under (the) PDP government, our nation fared better and our people were also very comfortable. The economy was buoyant.
“We created jobs for our teeming youths. Our health and education sectors were in (good) shape. A bag of rice was N6,500; there were food for people to eat, unlike now that the same bag of rice is N16,000.
“The game is up for the APC and that is why I have that confidence and assurance that with our versatile and well experienced presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, the PDP is on its unstoppable march to power again.”
Kalejaiye promised to provide excellent service delivery and facilitate unprecedented development in Ijebu and Remo land.
