There are strong indications that Shoreline Group and Heritage Oil are the organisations bankrolling the political campaign of one of the major political parties. The funding is being spearheaded by the MD/CEOs of these organisations.
The MD/CEOs who have pledged loyalty to one of the presidential aspirants are said to be sympathetic to the political party in reciprocation to the support the party rendered to their organisations during the previous dispensation during the acquisition of OML 30.
The then Minister of Petroleum Resources was said to have facilitated the partnership of Shoreline Oil with Heritage Oil to acquire OML 30 made up of 11 oil wells.
OML 30 which was previously operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) is owned by Shoreline and Heritage Oil. While Shoreline owns a 45% participating interest, Heritage Oil is the operator of the field.
OML 30 is situated in the onshore Niger delta, a prolific oil producing region. The licence covers 1,095 sqkm located about 35km East of Warri and great Ughelli and contains 11 fields, namely: Afiesere, Eriemu, Evwreni, Oweh, Olomoro-Oleh, Kokori, Oroni, Uzere West, Osioka, Ofa and Okpolo. It also has nine flow stations comprising Eriemu, Evwreni, Oweh; Oroni; Osioka; Kokori, Afiesere, Uzere, and Olomoro-Oleh.
