The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Friday indefinitely suspended the rerun election in Imo North, Imo State, following protests and disturbance by youths alleged to be members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

This was disclosed by the Administrative Secretary of the commission, Chinedu Oburunobi, while speaking with newsmen

Oburunobi, said “The nations electoral umpire suspended the rerun in the wake of the protest and disturbance.”

Youths suspected to be APC members had yesterday taken over the INEC office in Owerri, the state capital, demanding the removal of some officers of the commission they claimed belonged to the opposition party.
