The Oyo State Secretary of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Comrade Julius Olajide has described as baseless, accusations against the National Coordinator, Otunba Gani Adams, by “an expelled member of the congress, Shina Akinpelu.”
Challenging Akinpelu to reveal all he claims he knows, Olajide in a statement on Thursday said: “Now, the allegation is that it is Manchester in England, Lekki in Lagos, Tema in Ghana and Okota in Lagos that Otunba Gani Adams has houses.

“People should ask the blackmailer, ingrate and disgruntled element to come out with the proofs, photos and addresses of the said properties”
According to him, OPC is what it is today with the power of Almighty God, initiatives of Adams and the support of loyal members of National Coordinating Council and OPC members worldwide.

Continuing, Olajide pointed out that Adams, over the years, tirelessly does his best at promoting culture and tradition.

“Oodua Progressive Union in now sixty four countries of the world with the aim of uniting and bringing the Yorubas in diaspora together to champion a common cause to develop the race. He established Gani Adams Foundation, a charity organisation that assists the less privileged, Oodua Economic Empowerment Initiative, Olokun Business Enterprises etc.

“He rented offices for all the south west structures of OPC including, Kwara, Kogi and Edo States, empowered members through cash and kind, allocated cars and landed properties to many OPC leaders and members, some of which those now against him benefited from.
“Nigerians should ask Shina what he contributed to the growth of OPC when he was a member. Nigerians should ask him who helped him when he had a very serious ailment and was close to death before he was taken to Ola-Oki Medical Centre in Badadry. In case his memory fails him, it was Otunba Gani Adams who paid his bills.

“Till today, the only educational result Shina tenders was not without the knowledge of Otunba Gani Adams, who financed his studies at the International School of Aviation.”

The Oyo OPC scribe advised Adams’ “accusers and their paymasters to find something else to do or form another organisation they deem fit,” concluding that “For us, it is clear that these set of people deserve a permanent ward in a psychiatric hospital.”
