The National Council for Democratic Development (NCDC) commiserated with President Muhammadu Buhari over the demise of Kyari whom they described as a first-rate civil servant and the greatest loss by Nigeria so far to Coronavirus.
The NCDC through its Executive Director, Prince Onu Nweze, condoled the President, the All Progressives Congress, Borno State, and Nigerians, pointing out that such a loss should galvanize the country to fight the pandemic
“The death of President Buhari Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, was one of Nigeria’s greatest loss as our Nation continued to combat the dreaded Novel Corona Virus.
A disease that spares no border, health care system, and personality.
“Malam Abba Kyari died in Service to our Fatherland. A life full of meritorious contributions as he had served and worked for the law firm Fani-Kayode and as a Lawyer, as an Editor with the New Africa Holdings Limited Kaduna, served as a Commissioner for Forestry and Animal Resources in Borno State in the 1990s and held several management positions, in the Banking and oil industry.
“As a foremost Democrat, Malam Abba Kyari participated in the deepening of Nigeria Democracy and respect to her Democratic institutions, had made huge contributions to Nigeria match for democracy, through NADECO of which NCDD were partners and shares with him, in spirit and letter in that regard.
“As Duty called, duty took him away. He died in active service to our fatherland and shall be remembered for his huge contributions, calmness, and candour that he brought to bear in his service to Mr President as his loyal Chief of Staff,” Onu said.
