Sex workers in Mombasa, Kenya staged a protest over an alleged murder of their colleague.
The lifeless body of the unidentified commercial sex worker was found by workers who came to clean the room over the weekend, Crime Alerts reports.
According to her colleagues, the last time they saw the deceased was when she was entering the hotel with a man.
The protesters were seen on the streets displaying placards with inscriptions like ‘Sex workers: don’t kill them’, ‘Sex workers have right to live’
Mombasa Director of Criminal Investigation, Jacob Kanake told reporters that investigations were ongoing as the club’s managers and several persons are being interrogated over the murder.
“We found only used condoms in the room as the suspect is still at large.”
Kanake added that the man believed to have been with the lady before her body was found is being traced.
