The Minority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Dickson Sule Audu, has described as lepers, the 2 members of the Assembly who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC ).
Member representing Obi state constituency, Hon. Nick Eworo and his Okpokwu constituency counterpart, Hon. James Okefe, who were elected under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently crossed to the ruling APC, a development which didn’t go down well with the opposition.
Reacting to the defection, the Minority, Audu, described the duo as liabilities to the umbrella party, hence, there was need to celebrate their exist.
Audu, who is representing Agatu state constituency at the Assembly, said it became necessary to purge the 2 members because they had caught the dreaded leprosy and their continuous stay in the party would spell doom for other members.
Speaking at the stakeholders forum of the party in Makurdi on Monday, Hon. Audu said, “It is better that they had left with their leprosy.”
In conjunction with other members of the Assembly of PDP extraction, the minority pledged total commitment to ideals that would promote healthy opposition at the 8th Assembly.
