Nigerian Stock Exchange Index grows

The NSE has continued to grow significantly for two days straight.

The activities for Thursday came to a close with the market generally increasing by 0.62per cent.

After the close of thursday’s trading which saw the exchange of over 41 million shares valued at over 47 billion Naira in 4,207.00 deals, 25 stocks appreciated, 17 depreciated while all others closed flat with prices unchanged.

The market capitalisation opened  at 12,720 trillion Naira and closed at 12,799 trillion Naira, having a gain of 79 billion Naira or 0.62 per cent.

Likewise, the All Share Index grew by 0.62 per cent or 230.17 basis points, closing at 37,135.23 basis points as compared to its opening of 36,905.06 basis points.

Gainers
DANGOTE SUGAR REFINERY PLC gained the most in today’s trading by N1.25 or 9.80 per cent when it opened at N12.75 per share and closed at N14.00 per share.

C&I LEASING PLC was up next with an opening and closing price of 0.88 kobo per share and 0.96 kobo per share respectively, gaining 0.08 kobo or 9.09 per cent.

NEWREST ASL NIGERIA PLC followed opening at N5.26 per share and closing at N5.52 per share, gaining 0.26 kobo or 4.94 per cent.

Losers
CUTIX PLC became the biggest loser when it opened at N2.20 and closed at N2.09, resulting to a 0.11 kobo or 5.00 per cent loss.

NPF MICROFINANCE BANK PLC also fell when it opened at N1.26 per share and closed at N1.20 per share, falling therefore by 0.06 kobo or 4.76 per cent.

MAY & BAKER NIGERIA PLC joined the losers’ chart when it opened at N3.22 and closed at N3.07, depreciating by 0.15 kobo or 4.66 per cent.
