The Federal Capital Territory Administration has announced a temporary closure of the Apo-Wasa Road to vehicular traffic on Friday, June 13, 2025.
This, it stated, was to facilitate the inauguration of a key infrastructure project by President Bola Tinubu.
According to a press release issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, the road closure would last from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“The Apo-Wasa Road, in the Federal Capital Territory, which is to be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu tomorrow, will be closed to vehicular movement between 11 am and 4 pm,” the statement read.
The project being inaugurated is the newly constructed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway Stage II, stretching from Ring Road I Junction to Wasa Junction.
The President is expected to formally inaugurate the road by 2:30 pm.
The FCTA advised road users to take note of the closure and make alternative travel arrangements ahead of the event.
In a show of solidarity and enthusiasm, Olayinka disclosed that traders and mechanics in the bustling Apo Mechanic Village had resolved to suspend business operations for the day to welcome the President.
