Troops, CJTF foil Boko Haram supply route in Yobe, neutralise terrorist

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have intercepted logistics movements by Boko Haram on the Gashua–Buni Gari axis in Yobe State, neutralising one insurgent, recovering logistics supplies, and one motorcycle.

According to sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama, the operation was based on credible intelligence indicating the movement of insurgents attempting to transport essential supplies to terrorist cells within the region.

The troops who are tasked with the monitoring of Gashua axis as part of the ongoing operations, closed in and confronted the insurgents. One was recognised and killed, but many others fled the immediate area.

After the engagement, the troops recovered one motorcycle, and several logistics items meant for use by Boko Haram elements.

“The timely action of the troops, and the vigilance of CTF members and operatives inhibited the transportation of vital loads for Boko Haram operatives within the area,” a source confirmed.
