Nigerian Stock Exchange sustains growth by 0.50%

The Nigerian stock exchange has maintained it’s upward trend as trading activities closed for the day with a 0.50 per cent increase.

The market capitalisation stood at 12.720 trillion Naira after opening at 12,656 trillion Naira. The market capitalisation grew by 64 billion Naira or 0.50 per cent.

The All Share Index closed for today at 36,905.06 basis points a 184.44 basis points or 0.50 per cent increase on the previous closing of 36,720.62 basis points.

31 stocks gained in the equities market while 18 stocks depreciated as 21 million shares worth 37 billion Naira were traded in 4,047.00 deals.

GAINERS

C&I LEASING topped the gainers chart by 0.08 kobo or 10.00 per cent to close at 0.88 kobo per share against yesterday’s closing price of 0.80 kobo per share.

LAFARGE AFRICA PLC opened at N55.00 per share and closed at N57.75 per share having a gain of N2.75 or 5.00 per cent.

GUINNESS NIG PLC also gained when it closed at N69.87 per share against previous closing of N66.55  gaining N3.32 or 4.99 per cent.

LOSERS

OKOMU OIL PALM PLC on the other hand led the losers having a previous closing price of N76.03 per share and closing today at N72.23 per share therefore falling by N3.80 or 5.00 per cent.

CONTINENTAL REINSURANCE PLCwas next with a previous closing price of N1.42 per share and closing today at N1.35 per share, losing 0.07 kobo or 4.93 per cent.

MOBIL OIL NIG PLC followed with an opening price of N253.00 per share and closing at N240.65 per share, falling by N12.35 or 4.88per cent.
