Rose May Alaba is the younger sister of David Alaba, an Austrian-born Nigerian professional footballer, who plays for German club, Bayern Munich and the Austrian national team. In a recent chat with Saturday Beats, the singer noted that she almost toed the path of her elder brother before she dumped football for music when she heard about the intensive training involved in the sport.
“I used to play football and I tried it out but I decided to do music. I quit football for music when I was told that I had to come for training three times a week. When I was told that, I just said bye to football and I embraced my music. I have always had a talent for music and it has been easier for me to do than playing football,” Rose May said.
The singer, who is currently in Nigeria to acquaint herself with the Nigerian music industry, noted that she was not in a relationship as she gave her opinion about Nigerian men.
She said, “I am not in a relationship at the moment because I am trying to focus on my career. I want to do great music so I am in love with music right now.
“I would say that Nigerian men are very flirty and a lady has to be very careful because you can get lost in their eyes. Nigerian men know how to talk.”
The Austria-based Nigerian pop singer, who featured DMW artiste, Mayorkun, in her latest project titled, ’50-50 loving,’ said of her new song, “The song was inspired by Kiddominant. It was actually his idea. He sent the idea to me and I said it would appeal to the Nigerian audience. The song basically talks about the need for a relationship to be balanced and not one-sided.”
