Afrobeat Pop star Emmanuel Thompson with the stage name Emex EOT has said that music is the only career he can succeed with.
The singer said he cannot alternate his music career for any other business.
He said: “Music is everything I have, and the only thing I belief in, and I will never give up.”
The Akwa Ibom State-born singer and India-returnee however admitted that it is not easy to achieve a breakthrough in the Nigerian music scene as the country in loaded with lots of musical talents.
He is optimistic that his infusion of Indian vibes will catapult him to spotlight. “I get influenced with Indian fashion, culture and lifestyle. My debut single, Priyanka is a name of one of their biggest actresses.”
Narrating his experience in India, he said he actually got signed during one of his performances because the CEO of GMG Record, Mr Right Bright, was impressed.
“Though there are many Nigerian artistes in India but the Indians have their own way of listening to music, they are not really familiar with Nigerian kind of sound but I was lucky to be signed by a Nigerian record label,” he said.
Emex EOT’s unique style of Pop music has earned him positive reviews over the years as he continues to captivate music lovers. His style consists of Afrobeat and AfroPop.
He has released two singles so far, including “Priyanka” which was followed up with the hit single, “Kontrol”, produced by Kel P.
The Pop star looks up to working with superstars like Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tubaba and also wishes to work with international acts like Justin Bieber, drake and lots of them.
