138 suspects have been arrested by the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly committing various crimes in the state within last month.
Briefing news men in Lafia on Saturday, State Commandant of the Corps, Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari, revealed that the offences ranges from: theft, rape, vandalism, fraud, assaults among others.
Mahmoud Fari, however attributed the success recorded by the corps to the corporation and support of the public who gave useful information.
He, therefore, appealed to the public to sustain the relationship and always be security conscious by reporting strange and suspicious activities in their neighbourhood to the police.
“As security agencies, we might have different nomenclatures but our ultimate mandate is the security of lives and property of the people, hence the need for stronger collaboration to achieve results,” He said.
