The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the illicit drug was handed over to the Lagos commander of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Alhaji Sule Aliyu.
NAN reports that the handover was done by the Controller Western Marine, Mr Umar Yusuf, in the presence the Zonal Coordinator of Customs, an Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr Eporwei Edike.
Yusuf said that his team was liaising with other security agencies to check smugglers.
He said the command had repaired 14 of its patrol boats.
According to him, the seizure was made on Feb. 9 in Badagry and a 25-year-old suspect known as Bala Mamudu, of Awuse village, Ojo, Lagos, was arrested.
He said the seized item and the suspect would be handed over to the NDLEA.
Yusuf appealed to the Customs authorities for more training of offciers and men of the command..
He pledged that his team would never relent in the drive to ward off smugglers.
The controller said that the seizure surpassed every seizure ever made by the command.
