An unidentified, half-naked man was found hanging on a tree near EFAB Estate, Lokogoma, Abuja on Monday morning by residents of the area.

The deceased, who was wearing only a pair of boxers, was found dangling on a rope tied to the tree and was believed to have committed suicide on Sunday night.

Our correspondent learnt that residents of the area thronged the scene on hearing about the incident.

A resident, Peter Nwosu, said no one could identify the deceased, adding that he had no form of identity on him as he was half-naked.

“When I got the information, I ran to the scene but we only found a N50 note and a lighter. We looked to see if anyone could identify him but no one knew him. Nobody knew where he was from, nobody could identify him,” he stated.

The Federal Capital Territory Police spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, confirmed the incident, adding that the body had been evacuated to the morgue.

“Investigation has also commenced, we are trying to identify him and trace his relatives,” he said.
