Another key member of the robbery gang that robbed five banks in Offa, Kwara State on April 5, killing over 30
persons, including nine policemen, has been arrested.
Before now, a dismissed operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Corporal Michael Adikwu, had been arrested following the release of photographs obtained from Close Circuit Television scenes of the robbery.
The member of the gang newly arrested by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team is Kunle Ogunleye, popularly known as Arrow, who is 35 years old and a native of Kwara State.
Ogunleye was arrested on Sunday in Oro town in Kwara State.
In the same vein, more information has emerged on Adikwu, who was arrested on May 10, 2018.
He is said to be a native of Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
He was said to have been arrested by the Police in 2012 and charged to court in Kwara State for compromising by releasing some wanted armed robbers.
He spent three years in prison.
After he found his way out in 2015, Adikwu was said to have become a notorious armed robber.
He was also arrested by operatives of the IRT, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.
All the suspects arrested have confessed to the bank robbery and killings.
They are said to be assisting the IRT teams in arresting more of the bank robbers.
