Kogi federal varsity VC warns students against cultism

UntitledThe Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has warned the newly admitted students against participation in cultism and other vices during their stay in the university.

Akinwumi was speaking on Monday at the 13th natriculation of the school held at its temporary campus, Adankolo Lokoja.

“My dear matriculating students, to be awarded a degree by this iniversity, you must be found worthy in learning and in character. Academic excellence without good conduct is not sufficient.

“This is why I urge you to shun all forms of social vices such as cultism, indecent dressing, examination malpractices, sexual misbehavior, drug abuse, and any form of antisocial behavior that can mar or jeopardize your future.

“Let me be clear, this university has zero tolerance for laziness, academic misconduct, or deviant behaviours.

“Any student who fails to live up to the expectations of academic diligence and discipline will be shown the way out. I say this not to scare you, but to prepare your minds for the serious business ahead,” the VC said.

Akinwumi asked the students to count themselves lucky to have been selected among numerous applicants who applied to the university.
