Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has instructed Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Team Commanders of all formations in his Command to remain alert by protecting their bases and government infrastructure, ahead of May 30, 2025.
DAILY POST reports that the order is amid the sit-at-home declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
He gave the order during a security briefing he convened with the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Team Commanders in his office.
CP Isa, who emphasized strict compliance with the Operation Order, directed his officers to ensure proper supervision of their subordinates.
A statement signed by DSP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson of the Abia State Police Command, made available to journalists, said that all units, especially officers at strategic points, have been mandated to remain alert and proactive.
According to the statement, response teams are to be on standby and prepare to respond swiftly to emergencies.
She added that the Commissioner of Police also ordered Area Commanders to continue Operation “Show of Force” in collaboration with sister security agencies across Abia State.
“The Commissioner of Police assures the good people of Abia State of a peaceful and secure month-end.
“He urges the public to remain security-conscious and to support the police by promptly reporting suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or contact the Command’s emergency numbers”, the statement said.
