The Ogun government said it will showcase its rich culture and tourism potential at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged Gateway Games, in Abeokuta.
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communications, Mr Dare Odufowokan,
stated this at a news conference on Monday in Abeokuta.
He said the festival was not just about sports, but an opportunity to promote the state’s cultural heritage and hospitality.
“The festival is not about sports; it’s about celebrating our culture, promoting unity, and boosting tourism,” he said.
Odufowokan urged media houses to project the state in a positive light, highlighting its values, friendliness,, and vibrant cultural identity.
Adekunle Solaja, Chairman of the NSF Media Sub-Committee, called on media practitioners to publicise the event, seeing it as a vital platform for sports development and youth engagement.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the festival, which began on May 16, will end on May 30.
