President Buhari to visit wounded soldiers in Maiduguri

President Muhammadu Buhari will today, Wednesday, visit Maiduguri, Borno State, in the wake of recent attack on soldiers by insurgents.

During the visit, the President will open the annual Chief of Army Staff conference.

The conference was earlier scheduled to hold in Benin city, Edo State, but was later shifted to Borno, possibly to honour dozens of Nigerians soldiers recently killed in Borno State by boko haram insurgents.

While in Maiduguri, the President is also expected to visit survivors of the attack, currently receiving treatment.

He will, later in the day, return to Abuja.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will today, Wednesday, preside over the weekly cabinet meeting in the absence of President Buhari.
