Security agencies in Taraba State have conducted a statewide Show of Force in a strategic move to reassure residents and stakeholders of their readiness ahead of the upcoming Taraba International Investment Summit.
The exercise, led by the State Police Command, in conjunction with other security formations, was carried out across key locations in the state.
The operation, according to the command, was aimed at deterring criminal activities, reinforcing public confidence, and demonstrating a unified commitment to maintain peace and order during the summit.
Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel S. Bretet, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Umar Shehu Didango, described the operation as a proactive step to ensure a safe environment for the summit.
“As we prepare to welcome investors, guests, and dignitaries, it is crucial that we provide a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
“This Show of Force underscores our commitment to public safety and our determination to ensure the Summit proceeds without incident”, he stated.
The Police Command urged members of the public to remain alert and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest security outpost.
The command emphasized the critical role of community support in sustaining peace, particularly during events of international importance.
