Petroleum products’ marketers said on Wednesday that loading of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) had improved in some depots in Lagos, The Punch reports.

The National Operation Controller, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Mr. Mike Osatuyi noted that there was an improvement of discharge. He said: “They are discharging right now at Nipco; they have fuel in Folawiyo; they have in Capital Oil; and MRS and Ascon are discharging, and they are all getting NNPC fuel. So, we should expect improvement of supply to our members now and an end to the scarcity soon.”

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), Lagos Zone, Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo, said loading at the Ejigbo depot in Lagos was better on Wednesday than what the situation was on Monday and Tuesday. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had on Monday said it had received six cargos of petrol (270 million litres), and beginning from Tuesday, it would begin to receive one cargo (45 million litres) of petrol every day.
