A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, had in a motion, entitled, ‘Need to curb excessive electricity charges being levied on consumers by distribution companies through prepaid meters,’ said electricity consumers were “groaning over the rate at which the newly installed Mojec prepaid meters gobble up their units.”
Responding to the allegation in a statment, the Managing Director, Mojec International, Chantelle Abdul, said, “Mojec would like to unequivocally state that our smart prepaid meters are ‘best-in-class’ in terms of quality.
“All our prepaid smart meters (from the single phase meters to our three phase meters) meet all the national and international quality standards, and have been duly tested and certified by all regulatory bodies including the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Standards Organisation of Nigeria and Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency.”
