The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has denied the purported arrest of the immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, and members of his immediate family.
The commission’s acting spokesperson, Tony Orilade, said this in a telephone interview with one of our correspondents on Thursday.
“The report is not true; it is fake news,” he said.
Okorocha also issued a statement refuting the arrest report.
Okorocha’s statement was signed by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo.
He said, “The new government is behind the false story. They even called some media editors to make the story headline.
“We only want to ask them to leave responsible institutions or establishments like the EFCC out of their dirty tricks, especially in dishing out their lies.”
