The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in Imo State, Uche Nwosu, has accused the state governor, Emeka Ihedioha, of starting on a wrong footing.
He said the governor’s actions since he was sworn in showed that he was not prepared for leadership.
Nwosu made his position known while addressing journalists in Owerri, the state capital, on Wednesday.
But the state government has said it would not allow itself to be distracted.
According to Nwosu, the governor has been on a wild goose chase instead of unfolding his programmes for the people of the state.
He said the governor had been using the state House of Assembly to attack his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha, instead of tackling the challenges being faced by the people of the state.
When contacted, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Steve Osuji, said the present administration did not want to be distracted.
Osuji said, “We don’t want to be distracted by the immediate past governor and his cronies. Apart from not handing over, the immediate past government has continued to unleash its media thugs on the state government.
“Imagine starting work without a handover note. There is no office for the governor to operate from.
“The immediate past administration claimed that it left huge amount of money, yet there are no proofs. We don’t want to be distracted.”
