The Peoples Democratic Party Youth Network in Bayelsa State on Sunday cautioned the party’s governorship aspirants against causing internal crisis ahead of the November election.
The group’s Secretary-General, James Oputin, said the PDP youths were worried that the activities of some aspirants were affecting the existing unity and strength of the party.
Oputin said the PDPYN had observed sponsored articles in national newspapers desperately trying to create a wrong impression of a non-existing strife within the PDP.
He said as critical stakeholders of the PDP with members from all the wards of the state, the network expected the aspirants to unfold their agenda for the people by dealing with issues of development in the state.
He said, “We have noted in particular, odious media reports which are scripted to create a nonexistent impression that the PDP could only win election with one or two particular aspirants.
“As party members, we are not too young to remember how some of these aspirants ditched the PDP In 2015 when their contributions were desperately needed.
“Since their return to the party, these aspirants have failed to deal with issues of development of Bayelsa and her people.”
